GRANT MAKING NERDS
Director of Programs
Your top priority is making sure that your organization’s programs are aligned with your organization’s values - to advance justice, promote equity and secure rights. You acknowledge that this means challenging the status quo and pushing for what is right—even if you are forced to take risks.

You have about 10 years of experience under your belt as a grantmakerbut started off as a student activist and that is still kind of your modus operandi. You love organizing campaigns and protests, and that is your strength. You are also the warm and fuzzy person on the leadership team, but you may have some issues with creating clear professional boundaries. This includes treating grantees like friends - but you are probably very much inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt even when you probably shouldn't.
What You Know about Acadia

The opposition coalition, Acadia Tomorrow, has grown frustrated over its inability to influence national policies because of the ACP-controlled parliament, and the ruling elite remains reluctant to engage with dissidents. As a result, there have been an increasing number of mass protests as a means of pushing parliamentarians to be more proactive in engaging with key issues that are top priorities for specific constituents, especially young voters. These include environmental justice, reproductive justice and rights, and LGBTQI+ rights. There is a lot of interest among civil society groups, including existing grantees, to deepen investment in these areas.
