Full Speed Ahead

You feel really good that you stuck to your values! Good job!

But ... politics is fickle.

Before XYZ is able to fully execute new grant agreements, the NGO law goes into effect. The Acadia government starts investigation into a network of organizations working on human rights, accusing them of tax evasion. While your grantees are not investigated, they are reportedly fearful as well and many have stopped working.

This poses an issue because the funding that XYZ receives for work in Acadia is very much tied to the ability of your grantees to organize and advance advocacy agendas.

What will you do next?

Your next steps need to be taken carefully. Consider the questions below (but there are others that may affect your decision). Good luck.

Will you continue to renew the grants?  What will be the impact on grantees if you do or if you do not?

How will you engage with your donors who want to see results in order to continue funding your work in Acadia?

Do you have the systems or infrastructure to support grantees who are at risk?
